Blue curves are taken from I-V characteristics of stacked two intrinsic Josephson junctions of Bi2223 (one unit cell). The color is the school color of Kyoto University.

Background is a pattern of stone garden (sekitei), which can be seen in Ginkakuji Temple close to the venue.

The maple leaf represents beautiful autumn in Kyoto and some properties related to THz emission :-).
